Hey everyone! Time to brief you on some things, because a lot of things in my last update changed a tad
First off, I'm on a one-year leave from school for work and to build up a credit score for the loans I'll need to start art school (I'm also exploring my options while I'm still at home, different schools may have better scholarship programs offered for me, we'll see).
I've just picked up my Liberal Arts degree today, as the printing process of the hard copy took a few months since I finished mine during the summer, so now it feels a bit more official.
I've had two exhibits for the Washington Art Walk, one during the month of July, and one currently set up for this month. How it's normally set up is somewhat of a block-party kind of fair, where local businesses on the main street of their town open up spaces for artists to showcase their work. It's normally held every 4th Friday from April to September. The opening day for my exhibit was this past Friday, serving as the finale show of their season until next April, and I was there with 5 framed original pieces and a handful of prints for two of those. I ended up nearly running out of business cards and selling two prints by the end of the night, and the business I was located in requested more art to fill their second room!
All in all that went pretty well for me. I've managed to get on a much more productive upswing as far as art goes, and that's mostly due to only having my job to contend with and not having class for the time being. I'm really happy with that honestly, it's nice to see I'm getting more daily work done nowadays.
Speaking of daily work, I've started InkTober for the first time ever, after watching everyone else do it the past couple years I thought I'd try it. Ink is probably one of my favorite mediums to use, so I'm hoping some good pieces come out of this month!
With all of that in mind, even though this year won't involve classes for me, I've still been feeling my stress levels hit pretty high with the work I've been doing. But that's still okay, it hasn't been at its worst yet, and I know the good stuff coming from it is worth it.
As I mentioned in my last Journal (3 months ago) I'll be less active on here, but following my journal today I will post all the art I've been doing since the last time I've updated here, just so it's fair. As I've already mentioned, I'm much much more active on tumblr and other sites than here these days, but I understand some of you only have a dA and not other accounts, so I'll still post periodically. Just not as much of a daily occurrence as my blog.
